Camel spiders are some of greatest wonders of the desert. Although
many people find these creatures intimidating, they are not the
arachnids many believe them to be. Camel spiders may seem scary and
aggressive because of its appearance. However, they are not that bad.
Many people have myths about them. This includes camel spiders being
flesh eaters of the night. The truth is, they don’t eat humans. They
only eat small arthropods usually during nighttime because they are
nocturnal. Another myth is that camel spiders capture its prey by
paralyzing before eating them. This is only half-true. Yes, they capture
their preys in order to feed on them but they do not have the ability to
paralyze them because they do not possess any venom. They only have
their strong claws as part of their defense system. Moreover, they also
bite their prey as well as those who tend to aggravate their moods.
One major question that has brought people’s minds more curious about
them is whether their bites are painfully strong and deadly or not. The
answer is yes. They do have powerful bites and can be deadly if left
untreated.

else can they capture their preys without a bite that matches their
claws? Just like millions of other insects in the world, camel spiders
also bite off their victims. Their mighty claws act as pincers and then
they bite off the chopped body parts of their preys. Generally, if you
are bitten by these spiders do not worry because they pose no grave
threat to your health. Your only problem is how to avoid possible
infection. Camel spiders have strong bites. Although, their bite may
seem painful there is no need to worry because as noted before, they do
not posses any venom or any spit that can burn up your skin. The best
thing to do when bitten by camel spiders is to wash the wound
immediately with soap and water. After doing so, you can cover it with
plaster and gauze to keep it away from dust and dirt. If the pain
persists, you can go straight away to the doctor. The doctor might
probably give you pain relievers and some antibiotics. The worst thing
that could happen with a camel spider bite is that it could become
bigger when no measures are done to treat it. There are so many ways
to avoid being bitten by camel spiders. If you are out camping in the
desert or on a military mission, always remember that camel spiders are
nocturnal. Therefore, if you sleep on your tents at night do not mind
something crawling under your bag because this might probably be camel
spiders. Look before you reach under your sleeping bags. Do not even try
to pick up camel spiders because they do not want to be touched by human
hands. If in cases where these creatures are on your body, do not smack
